This presentation was delivered as an On Demand session at the Tribal Lands and Environment Forum: Virtual Gathering in August 2020 by Natalie McDonald, Coeur d’Alene Tribe.
Since time immemorial, the land within and beyond the Coeur d'Alene Reservation has always been our familiar home—the home of the Schitsu'umsh people. Unfortunately, mining and railways have contaminated our lake, our wetland, and our waterways. This story map presentation will introduce the Restoration Partnership and dive deeper into the complex ecological and social issues they face in working toward a clean, healthy, and diverse Coeur d’Alene Basin ecosystem.
