This presentation was delivered as an On Demand session at the Tribal Lands and Environment Forum: Virtual Gathering in August 2020 by William (Nick) Nichols, US Environmental Protection Agency.
Participants will learn the basics of what OEM does and how we work with regional programs to meet the needs of tribes. Includes a very brief discussion on regulatory and policy updates concerning all things (focus on oil and chemical) emergency prevention preparedness and response with a focus on tribal participation. OEM's primary mission and tribal related outreach and inclusion will be presented as a baseline. Topics include Risk Management Plan Amendments Rule, Waters of the U.S., direct incident notification for tribes, and TWAR committee priorities list.
