This six and a half hour training was delivered as part of the Tribal Lands and Environment Forum: Virtual Gathering in August 2020. Talking circles and the open lunch session were not recorded for public viewing to respect participants’ privacy. The schedule of the recorded presentations is included below.
This training began with a Talking Circle where Tribal professionals shared their thoughts on environmental challenges they face while dealing with the pandemic as well as successes and achievements they feel may help others. Throughout the day there were sessions, by legal experts from Ogden Murphy Wallace’s Tribal Government Practice Group, which included group discussion and sharing. Session topics covered Superfund, brownfields, Trust and consultation issues, effective use of federal and state laws, enforcing Tribal laws, and much more. The seminar ended with a Closing Circle discussion.
