This Opening Plenary was delivered as the official opening of the Tribal Lands and Environment Forum: A Virtual Gathering in August 2020. The opening plenary featured welcoming remarks by Ann Marie Chischilly, Executive Director of ITEP; Mark Junker, Chair of the Tribal Waste & Response Steering Committee; Peter Wright, Assistant Administrator of US EPA Office of Land & Emergency Management; and W. Scott Mason, Director of US EPA American Indian Environmental Office. Our keynote speaker was Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer, author of "Braiding Sweetgrass".
