An Introduction to Interactive Graphs with the 'plotly' Package in R
From ITEP Team on July 27th, 2020
In this webinar, delivered on July 22, 2020 Mark provided an introduction to the ‘plotly’ package for R, which allows users to create interactive plots so that the viewer can zoom in and out, pan around, see values at specific points, and take snapshots of specific views. He reviewed the wide variety of types and styles of plots that can be made with ‘plotly’, including scatter and line plots, bar charts, pie charts, bubble charts, box plots, histograms, polar charts, and 3D surface plots, among others; and showed how every aspect of the charts can be customized and styled for presentation. He then jumped into RStudio and demonstrate how to make the kinds of charts commonly used by environmental professionals with the ‘plotly’ package, including scatter and line plots (with or without trendlines), pie charts, box and whiskers plots, and histograms.
