This presentation will showcase the EPA's River Basin Export Optimization Support Tool (RBEROST), a new user-friendly tool that can help Tribes and local government to identify watershed and coastal management strategies to reduce nutrient loading to freshwater systems and estuaries, and in turn, mitigate the harmful impacts of hypoxia and harmful algal blooms on fish and shellfish resources. The focus of the presentation will be on the RBEROST tool, its relevancy for addressing tribal land conservation, impacts to aquatic life and coastal resources, and climate change. The recording will also include a “how to” demo that demonstrates how to use RBEROST based on a Connecticut River case study and will discuss project plans for applying RBEROST to the Puget Sound in Washington.
