Using Survey123 to collect field data greatly improves the quality of the data, reduces errors and increases the accuracy of geospatial information resulting in no more transcribing data from field sheets to excel. However, it isn’t all a bed of roses. Getting the data out of the feature services to be used for analysis or reporting and transferring photos to the end users can be laborious. But this demo will show you that it can be done!
During this session we will go through the creation of a simple Survey123 form using ArcGIS Survey123 Connect. Attendees will learn how to manage their connection settings for posting to AGOL/Enterprise. Within this simple survey we will explore creating custom file names for photo attachments and conditional questions based on a previous answer. Additionally, we will walk through the process of creating a Web Application to QA submitted data online using the Edit Tool Widget.
To finish off the session users will walk through using ArcPro Geoprocessing Tools and R/RStudio to create a script to download the submitted data into a comma separated file (.csv) on to their computers. This script will also include downloading attachments to a folder. During this portion there will also be discussion on sharing this GP tool to an Enterprise Portal Server and attaching it as a widget in a Web App. Further discussion will be held on the challenges and intricacies of hosting a Rscript GP tool on an Enterprise Portal server.
