By visioning, assessing, cleaning up, and restoring sites, Tribal communities can establish fertile pathways for environmental stability and cultural resilience. Participants will examine how green infrastructure and nature-based solutions facilitate transforming degraded and contaminated landscapes into functional and productive spaces. Highlighting remediation methods that integrate bio-, phyto-, and myco-systems for holistic healing, addressing contaminants of concern and stabilizing soil structures for adaptive management. Insights into how adversely impacted lands present unique opportunities for Indigenous self-determination, ecological restoration, community building, and redevelopment by creating healthier environments for all relatives. The Tribal Technical Assistance to Brownfields Program can be a collaborative partner in navigating these complex challenges, securing technical and funding resources, and co-creating long-term assets.
