This session will provide an overview of a typical UST cleanup process and case study examples from tribes, including: What we know about typical LUST sites, What owners are required to do and what to expect, Who does the cleanup (What to consider when hiring a cleanup contractor, What are job training opportunities), What is a conceptual site model, What is a receptor survey and why that is important, What cleanup levels should be considered, What to consider when closing a site (how clean is clean), and What cleanups can cost and what cleanup financing is available, such as insurance, state funds, Federal Brownfields and LUST Trust Funds.
