The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Radiation Protection Division under the Office of Air and Radiation encompasses the Radiological Emergency Response Team (RERT). The RERT works with federal, Tribal, state and local agencies to prepare for and respond to, emergencies involving radioactive materials. The RERT seeks to establish direct communication channels with Tribes to enhance partnership building, radiation education and outreach, and radiological emergency preparedness and response.
