This session will explain the process for Tribal FEMA disaster declaration for emergency on reservation. The focus will be an explanation of a wildfire on the Yakama Nation reservation that burned numerous homes and had significant damage to the infrastructure in the area. We will go on to discuss the decision process for applying, the preliminary damage assessment, and the different types of assistance applied for and the process of getting approval. Long term recovery will be discussed in an update of where we are at, the year following the disaster.
