This session will follow a case study of the Bishop Paiute Tribe's Environmental Laboratory's (BPTEL) aim to move into the digital age by transforming the way they receive water samples for analyzation from clients. By using ESRI's Survey123 application, the Chain of Custody forms and Water Sampling and Analysis Report have been transformed from traditional paper forms to digital forms, streamlining the process of sample collection, analyzation, and reporting. This session is targeted at tribal programs that are looking to move away from the crippling hold of paper to digital data collection. The audience will get information on the process that BPTEL staff took to streamline their data collection and the funding opportunity that allowed them to do so through an engaging PowerPoint presentation.

This is a live session discussion Quileute Tribe's Natural Resources Department as a case study on how implementing strategies for streamlining data management processes helped ease the burden of data analysis and reporting to interested stakeholders. While this is directly related to water quality results used towards salmon preservation efforts, this information can be useful to most environmental programs looking for examples of data management as a success versus a painful after thought.
