Platform for Exploring Environmental Records (PEER)
This session will introduce community members, brownfields program leaders, planners, and environmental professionals to the Platform for Exploring Environmental Records (PEER). PEER is a free tool developed by Community Lattice, in partnership with KSU TAB, to help communities understand brownfields redevelopment opportunities and challenges by making public environmental records accessible and useable on a single platform. During this session, we will give instructions for how to use PEER, present case studies, and facilitate an open discussion about the application of PEER to tribal brownfields programs. Additionally, we will share discoveries made during the development of PEER about public environmental record reporting. Education gained from this session will be useful for identifying and prioritizing brownfields, area-wide planning, brownfields inventories, and understanding underlying assumptions in similar data tools, like EJ Screen. Presenters: Danielle Getsinger, Community Lattice; Jennifer Clancey, KSU TAB; Mark Junker, Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska
This presentation was delivered as part of the Tribal Lands and Environment Forum in August 2022.
