We will share the story of the Tulalip Tribes' efforts to improve compliance and site clean up on their reservation in Western Washington on the shores of the Salish Sea. Tulalip created a team within their government to better coordinate actions to improve the protection of tribal sovereignty and treaty rights, like contaminated site clean-up, shellfish harvesting, healthy homes, and natural resource protection. Staff support for this Team is paid for by the Tribal Brownfields Grant. In addition to sharing our successes and works-in-progress, we want to have 15-minute discussion with other tribes about how we can work together to better support fairness and Indigenous justice for all of Indian Country.
