This session will cover the importance of proper PPE and safety precautions when investigating illegal dump sites (e.g. situational awareness, protecting yourself from hazardous materials, wildlife and unsafe conditions). We will also cover how to collect defensible evidence (e.g. documentation at the scene and collecting items that could identify the responsible person/party) and approaches to notifying the responsible party, and engaging the proper departments for enforcement and clean-up support.
