Nana I Ke Kumu affords educators opportunities to access aina-based STEM education training infusing indigenous knowledge, language and values into curriculum to embrace cultural identities of native students. This workshop will include fun STEM activities focused on Native Hawaiian stories like that of demi-god Maui to illustrate the effectiveness of culture-based STEM education and to provide strategies that address teacher development and retention in a Native Hawaiian community.
