The shortage of housing coupled with contamination concerns in older housing stock is a significant issue many tribes face today. This session will focus on solutions to this problem through partnerships with tribal brownfields programs, tribal housing authorities, HUD and EPA. The presenters will discuss their experiences assessing and cleaning contaminated homes and working towards redevelopment. Specifically, the L’BelCour housing project at Turtle Mountain will be highlighted, as well as sites across Spirit Lake Nation. Presenters will also review EPA and HUD resources available to tribes to address housing cleanup and redevelopment. This will be a live presentation with questions and answers being entered into the Chat box and continued in a Zoom room during the BOF session that immediately follows this session.
