This short video describes how radon in homes produce airborne radioactive heavy elements, including lead and polonium. We created a ~25 pCi/L environment, left a suit jacket in the room for several hours so that the radioactive polonium, lead and bismuth can build up on the surfaces, and measured the alphas as they are emitted by these radioactive heavy metals left by radon's decay. The intent is to show how radon leaves radioactive heavy metals indoors and can deposit on surfaces, including the inner linings of our lungs.
