This session will feature speaker presentations and facilitated small group discussions focused on strengthening chemical risk science to serve Tribes and Indigenous communities more effectively. Three speakers will share insights on the unique health and environmental risks faced by Tribes, highlighting gaps in current risk assessment and monitoring frameworks and underscoring the need for culturally relevant, community-centered approaches.
Following the presentations, participants will engage in an hour of small group discussions guided by key questions and prompts. Discussions will center on principles of interconnectedness, cumulative effects, and community health, drawing on audience members' lived experiences and expertise. This interactive session will foster knowledge exchange and partnership-building, aiming to co-develop actionable strategies for more comprehensive and effective risk science practices.
