Natural disasters and other emergencies can strike without warning, causing significant damage to communities and placing lives at risk. This session will describe the effectiveness of emergency preparedness in reducing the impact of these events and saving lives in Tribal Communities. The panelists will discuss the current challenges in emergency response preparedness, identify gaps that must be addressed, and explore community engagement and technology to enhance and share successful emergency response preparedness initiatives. Participants will better understand the challenges and opportunities in emergency response preparedness, acquire best practices and successful initiatives incorporating community engagement and technology, and enhance collaboration and networking among emergency responders, local government officials, and community members. The panel will include PowerPoint presentations and a 15-minute Q&A.
