This presentation was delivered during the Tribal Superfund Working Group Quarterly Meeting in March 2022 for US EPA to share community involvement tools and resources they are developing to help communities understand site risks and participate in the Superfund decision-making process, including Technical Assistance Services for Communities (TASC) support, redevelopment on Tribal sites, and Superfund Community Workshop pilot. Ricky Sherwood from the Spokane Tribe shared his experience with these tools and how he engaged his community to inform the Midnite Mine Community Involvement Plan. We wrapped up the meeting with perspectives from Tribal professionals on the front lines – on a new pilot workshop designed to improve EPA’s relationship with communities at Superfund sites.
