This presentation provides an overview of the beginning stages of the brownfields process at the Five Sandoval Day School, an old BIA school built at the turn of the 20th century. The audience will be taken through inventory, assessment, sampling, abatement, and community involvement stages as the Pueblo prepares for redevelopment. We touch on lessons learned, ideas for engaging the community, funding mechanisms, and resources used for this project.
