The Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund (OSLTF) exists to provide funding for quick response to oil spills and compensate eligible claimants for cleanup costs and damages from oil spills. Tribes that respond to spills, or that suffer damages from spills, can access the Fund through various mechanisms. Join the National Pollution Funds Center in a discussion of Tribal response authorities under the Oil Pollution Act of 1990, response cost funding options through the OSLTF, and the various categories of damages for which Tribes and tribal members are eligible. An expanded discussion regarding natural resource damages and lost subsistence use will highlight the challenge of monetizing lost cultural use. Please join us for this engaging conversation.
