Pala Environmental Department started a drone program in 2020. Initially we purchased two drones, to be used by our department for a variety of environmental projects; this project has grown to include multiple departments, with multiple objectives. We would like to provide a roadmap of how we got our program up and running, how we currently use drones in our tribe, and how other tribes can do the same. We especially want to focus on sharing information that will help other tribes create successful drone programs of their own, including: grants we have used to fund drone purchases; the training/technical support that have helped us; the types of projects we use our drones for; and templates/SOP's/forms that we have developed to share.
