This presentation was delivered as part of the Tribal Lands and Environment Forum: Virtual Gathering in August 2021 by Ryan Webb with the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, Julia Jacobs with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe, Lily Bermejo with the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community, Roselynn Lwenya and Janet Niessner with the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians, and Ignacio Dayrit with Center for Creative Land Recycling.
Tribes have land assets that can be restored and or reused for a variety of purposes. Come and hear from three tribes regarding their approaches that incorporate tribal priorities that adapt to their economic, environmental and cultural needs. The speakers will address the goals of each tribe; stakeholders involved; brownfields issues; planning; and funding sources that were considered.
