The EPA Office of Inspector General conducts audits and evaluations to promote good governance and contribute to improved human health and the environment. We plan to discuss the role of the OIG, interactions with our office as we conduct our oversight work, and lessons learned regarding grant oversight. As we begin our oversight of Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) funding, we can provide recommendations for technical and financial monitoring of grants as well as what to expect if OIG reviews a federally funded project.
