This session highlights the Quapaw Nation's Water Harvesting Project - an innovative, climate_resilient system designed to strengthen emergency preparedness, food and water sovereignty, and conservation goals. Attendees will learn how the Nation transformed the 5,400_sq_ft Food Washing Facility roof into a rain_capture system supplying a 39,626_gallon NFPA_compliant Pioneer tank, providing critical water for wildfire protection, potable water for elders, and supplemental irrigation. The session will walk participants through project planning, funding strategies, and interagency collaboration between Quapaw Nation, BIA Tribal Climate Resilience, and the USDA Southern Plains Climate Hub. Participants will gain insight into technical design, implementation challenges, and lessons learned that can be replicated by other Tribes. Supporting materials - websites, handouts, outreach resources - will be provided to attendees. Power point presentation with multiple project photos will be the delivery method.
