As part of certifying that a tribal solid waste project is 'Ready to Fund', the Indian Health Service collaborates with EPA-ORCR to evaluate a tribes solid waste management capacity. EPA is responsible for regular assessments, evaluations, and reporting on tribal solid waste management. EPA is revising our approach to this task. This session will share changes to EPA's evaluation process. The revised evaluation form incorporates the new GAP Guidance Capacity Indicators. EPA is also making the form and process more flexible and efficient. During this session, EPA will highlight the evaluation process and how tribes can be involved to help elevate their projects on the SDS list.

Participants will also get a chance to understand how RD’s solid waste program complements our other drinking water, waste-water treatment, technical assistance, and related programs. Over this 45-minute session time will be reserved for questions and discussion regarding Tribal experiences using these programs.
